We empower children facing hardship with education, care, and opportunities to build a brighter future.

Our History

Created on July 30, 2023, by a group of Benedictine Secular Oblates belonging to the Third Benedictine Order of the Abbey of Clervaux, the Association believes that helping an orphaned, poor, or abandoned child is like saving humanity for a better world. Poverty is unjust. ASCA is committed to not leaving behind children living in extreme hardship, providing them with the support they need to pursue a fulfilling education and have enough to eat. Saint Carlo Acutis, the patron of our association, serves as a model for generosity and compassion toward the most vulnerable, the poorest of the poor.

The Challenge

Many children face barriers that go beyond the classroom — challenges that quietly shape their future long before they have the chance to choose it.

For some children, school becomes difficult not because they lack potential, but because poverty creates constant uncertainty. When families struggle to afford meals, uniforms, or basic supplies, education can slowly slip out of reach.

Malnutrition affects more than physical health — it impacts concentration, confidence, and long-term development. A hungry child cannot fully focus on learning or participate with the same energy as their peers.

Isolation and emotional distress often follow loss or hardship. Children who experience bereavement, displacement, or social exclusion may withdraw, carrying emotional burdens that shape how they see themselves and the world.

These challenges are interconnected. School dropout, poverty, hunger, and emotional strain rarely exist alone. To create lasting change, support must address the whole child — academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our Response

Lasting change begins with thoughtful support. We focus on practical, consistent interventions that help children regain stability, confidence, and opportunity.

We work to keep children engaged in school through mentorship, learning resources, and continuous encouragement. Education becomes a pathway forward, not a privilege at risk.
By addressing hunger and essential needs, we create the stability children require to focus, grow, and participate fully in school and community life.
Through safe spaces, guidance, and community connection, we help children rebuild confidence and feel seen, supported, and valued.
We prepare children for long-term success by nurturing practical skills, resilience, and ambition — empowering them to shape their own futures with confidence.

The Values That Guide Our Work

Our mission is shaped by principles that ensure every action is thoughtful, sustainable, and centered around the well-being of children.

Dignity First

Every child deserves to be treated with respect and care. We approach our work with empathy, ensuring that support empowers rather than labels or defines.

Consistency Over Charity

Real change doesn’t come from one-time gestures. We focus on steady, reliable support that builds trust and creates lasting stability in children’s lives.

Community-Led Support

We believe solutions are strongest when rooted in community. By working closely with families, educators, and local partners, we ensure our impact is meaningful and sustainable.

Long-Term Impact

Our goal isn’t short-term relief, but long-term transformation. We invest in education, resilience, and opportunity so children can shape their own futures with confidence.
